The Road to the Playoffs
Hundreds of players began their journey on March 25th with the launch of the Trackmania World Tour 2024. After months of sanctioned tournaments, the 31 highest-ranked players gathered for the Playoffs this weekend to determine the final four who would qualify for the World Cup.
Favorites Rise to the Challenge
The Playoffs followed a double-elimination bracket, with a custom map pack that pushed the limits of every player’s skill and endurance. Saturday’s matches were a display of exceptional talent, with players demonstrating their quick reflexes and nerves of steel across challenging circuits.
By the time the semi-finals arrived, it was no surprise that six of the eight remaining players were ranked in the World Ranking’s top 10. Joining them were standout German competitors Jan and Massa.
The semi-finals saw players pusztitopako, mime, Binkss, and Massa battle it out in the winner’s bracket. In a thrilling final match of the day, France’s Binkss and Germany’s Massa came out on top, securing their spots in the Grand Final of the Playoffs—and most importantly, their places at the World Cup in Paris.
The English in Ambush
On Sunday, the tournament resumed with the semi-finals of the loser bracket, where eight remaining players faced off.
The English players dominated their opponents in these rounds, with three out of four advancing alongside the German player Granady to compete in the match before the loser bracket final. Among the English, Epos and Pac emerged victorious, securing their spots in the final against pusztitopako and mime, who came from the winner bracket final.
With World Cup slots on the line, the stakes were incredibly high in the loser bracket final. The young Hungarian player pusztitopako, second in the world rankings, showcased his talent by claiming first place. He secured his ticket to Paris, along with the English player Epos, who outpaced his compatriot Pac and the Polish player mime, both of whom were eliminated.
Massa: Fastest of the Playoffs
The Grand Final of the Playoffs brought together the four players who had already qualified for the World Cup. They faced off for the best possible seeding for the final showdown in Paris. After a fiercely competitive match, it was the German veteran Massa who emerged victorious, showcasing his strength throughout the weekend. Following him closely were the Frenchman Binkss in second, the Hungarian pusztitopako in third, and the Englishman Epos in fourth.
XPEvo: The Last Chance for Paris
