CarlJr Claims His Sixth World Championship Title at Paris Games Week 2024

Canadian Carl-Antoni Cloutier, known as CarlJr, has once again made history in the Trackmania World Cup, further cementing his legendary status in the game. Competing against a talented field of finalists, CarlJr clinched his sixth Trackmania World Cup title on the grand stage at Paris Games Week.

The Trackmania World Cup 2024, sponsored by Continental, delivered an incredible spectacle for the many fans who came out to support their favorite players. Alongside CarlJr, seven other finalists from the Trackmania World Tour competed for the World Cup. The players were split into two semi-finals, played back-to-back, with the top four advancing to the final.

Former Champions Face Off in the Semi-Finals

In the first semi-final, defending champion Youen “Otaaaq” Egler from Karmine Corp faced England’s Thomas “Pac” Cole and Robert “Epos” McKay, as well as Australia’s Patrick “Mudda” Radisich.

It was an intense match, with Pac and Otaaaq reaching finalist status one after the other. Ultimately, Pac secured his place in the final first, followed closely by Otaaaq, who was cheered on by hundreds of relieved Karmine Corp fans. Epos fought hard but fell short in third place, while Mudda finished fourth.

The second semi-final was equally thrilling. France’s Alexandre “Binkss” Touche and Canadian CarlJr were the first to reach finalist status. Binkss emerged victorious in the round, followed by CarlJr, who advanced shortly after. Germany’s Dennis “Massa” Lotze and Hungary’s Péter “Pusztitopak” Varga took third and fourth places, respectively.

CarlJr Reclaims His Crown in the Final

The grand final commenced with cheers from thousands of fans, including many supporters of Karmine Corp and Solary.

CarlJr quickly took the lead, scoring ahead of Otaaaq and Pac, who were neck and neck, while Binkss trailed further back. Dominating with 60% of the rounds won and a 38-point lead, CarlJr was the first to achieve finalist status. Despite his competitors’ best efforts, he crossed the finish line first, winning his sixth World Cup title to loud applause from the crowd.

The final continued with a gripping battle among the remaining three players. Pac reached finalist status next, followed closely by Otaaaq and Binkss, who mounted an impressive comeback. Pac ultimately secured second place as the 2024 vice-world champion, while Binkss took third, finishing just ahead of his compatriot in a thrilling final round.
